Review Policy
Reviews are serious business. If done right, they could lead hundreds of
people in the direction of a perfect game or keep people away from a stinker.
Some people use reviews as the sole basis whether they get the game or not.
However, others simply use it to see how it fairs with others, and then go out
and get it for themselves. Here at Redhead Reviews, we are going for the later.
We simply want to help you in making the decision for yourself. So, it’s been
decided that our review system will be based out of 1-10 scale. There are 5
different categories in which leads to the final score. The categories are all
between 1-10. The final scores for those categories are added up then divided by
5 to get the average, which is the final score.
The categories are:
Story – This can include the plot of the game, characters, plot twists, and a
variety of similar things. Depending on the game, this category might change,
such as in a sport game, to something that fits with the game. A game that would
score highly in this category would be Catherine, which did something
unique with its story.
Graphics – This category includes the the overall opinion of the graphics in
the game, as well as textures, customization of characters/game world, and
technical glitches such as texture pop-up. Also a sequel of a game that greatly
improves the graphics since the first will also be discussed in this category. A
game that would score highly in this category would be Uncharted 3.
Gameplay – The gameplay category includes the combat system, controls, level
design, online play, and more. A game that would score highly in this category
would be Grand Theft Auto IV, which offers a variety of mission and
gameplay mechanics.
Sound – The sound category includes all sound effects in the game, such as
the sounds coming from the guns or cars in a game, to the voice acting. This
also includes any music in the game, and if the music fits well with what is
happening on screen. A game that would score highly in this would be Red
Dead Redemption, which offers excellent voice acting and authentic animal
sounds from all the animals in the game.
Lasting appeal – This applies to the campaign length, collectibles, online
reward system in multiplayer, difficulties, and more. A game that would score
highly in this category would be Halo: Reach, which has a excellent
online rewards system and challenging difficulties.
Take note that we will not release a review for a game if a proper playthrough has not been done.
The final score puts them in one of the following ratings. Depending on where
it lies on the scale, the reviewer will decide where it fits best.

Remember that these reviews and our scoring system are designed just to help
you make your decision on what you would like. Just because we say it’s a bad
game doesn’t mean it will be the same for the guy down the street. Good reviews
that we give might not be what others think at all. It’s just our opinion. You
decide for yourself if a game is good or not.
